Tamarind Institute, of UNM’s College of Fine Arts, is a printmaking workshop and Gallery dedicated to the preservation of fine art lithography. Since 1960, Tamarind has offered unique educational programs, opportunities for artists to collaborate with master printers, and local, regional and international projects that reach out to varied constituencies. Recognized worldwide as a major influence in the art world, Tamarind celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2010 with its move to a new facility, a retrospective traveling exhibition, and special programming throughout the year.

Dorie Hagler, from Taos, New Mexico was selected to create the artwork. The piece was installed in June 2010.
