Taos Center for the Arts

For the past two years, Damon Klassen has served as the technical director for Taos Center for the Arts (TCA). He is responsible for managing the backstage of the facility, technical assistance for renters, volunteers, and front of house activities. He is the direct liaison between performers and their audiences.Klassen has also appeared as an actor in three productions on the TCA stage.

In 1998, Klassen was a co-founder of EMU Theatre Company in Lawrence, KS, that is still an active grassroots, non-profit today. He received a bachelor’s degree in general studies in theater from the University of Kansas. After graduation, he toured with the Seem To Be Players all around schools and theaters in the Midwest and along East Coast. In 2000, he worked as a tech director’s apprentice at Theatre on the Square in San Francisco. Along with his work for TCA, he has worked at the Taos Mountain Outfitters in Taos as the General Manager and Hard Goods Buyer, for the past eight years.


The Taos Center for the Arts, as arts council, public leader, partner and catalyst inspires creative expression throughout Taos by providing facilities and programming and education in the visual, performing, and media arts.
