Naomi Gibbons - Project Coordinator
Naomi Gibbons is Project Coordinator for Art in Public Places of New Mexico Arts (AIPP). She runs the 1% for Public Art Purchase Program. She also coordinates other Art in Public Places initiatives such as TIME (Temporary Installations Made for the Environment). A native Santa Fean and daughter of a local artist, Naomi has been an active member in the arts from a young age. Naomi’s diverse background working with galleries, nonprofits to museums, led her to take a socially holistic approach to art. She recognizes impact art has on the development of economic success. As the Visual Arts Coordinator for the Center for Contemporary Arts in Santa Fe she created The Shop, a local consignment store supporting the growth of young local artists and developed dynamic programming for various exhibitions.
Exploring other avenues, Naomi lived in New York City for a year receiving her yoga teaching certification at Laughing Lotus and working in inner-city public schools in Brooklyn instructing yoga to kids. She is currently instructing adult and family yoga classes at ElleWell in Santa Fe.
An avid lover of the arts, specifically public art and creative community engagement, Naomi also enjoys adventuring to places she has not been, the aesthetic beauty of the outdoors, growing and eating local food, working to connect STEAM fields together, laughing with loved ones, headstands and of course, eating chile.
Naomi holds a BFA from the University of New Mexico with a concentration in Community Interactive Arts
