Karen Cotter, Albuquerque

Commissioner Karen Cotter’s arts career has ranged from dancing with the San Francisco Ballet, choreographing 14 ballets, operating the Albuquerque Ballet Company from 1975 to 1995, and enjoying her current singing and acting engagements. Cotter is active with the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) as Chair of the SAG/NM Legislative Committee and member of the SAG/NM Council, Diversity Committee, and Women in Film. She founded Belarusian Children of Chernobyl, a NM non-profit in 1997 for the purpose of humanitarian aid to the children of families affected by the Chernobyl accident of 1986.
