Helmut Hillenkamp(H.H.), forged handrail for adobe wall; forged steel, wired brushed and waxed. Individually made handrail to fit with New Mexico style home. 2013


Birdgate...H.H., walkway gate with little steel birdie on top, forged and fabricated steel, weathered and oiled. Playful gate using various forged elements in whimsical combination. 2003


Hand made light fixture for Barberia Ranch. Fabricated and hammered steel with blown glass. One of a series of lights designed by the owners with a barber pole motif, alluding to the past function of the ranch along the Santa Fe Trail. 2007


Railing for a house on Cerro Gordo with all forged joinery, brushed and waxed steel. This railing is a study piece of Fritz Kühn’s work, German master blacksmith from the Thirties. Techniques include mortise and tenon joinery on the diagonal, forge welded rings, collaring without electrical welding. 2010


Steel and glass doors for fireplace of guest house at Barberia Ranch. Steel, hammered and fabricated, ceramic glass. The new building code requires tightly closing doors instead of screens, even for kiva fireplaces. We can do these in a beautiful Santa Fe style. 2013


Monument to the Blacksmiths, Cuenca, Ecuador. Weathered steel, forged and fabricated. We built this sculpture for and with the blacksmiths of the Andean city. A community effort. 1997


Door hardware for Barbaria Ranch. Etched and oiled wrought iron. Design parameters determined by architect Richard Martinez to be fitted for locally made doors. 2007


Fireplace screen with log grate, forged steel. Old style kiva screen, free standing, note the hand forged rivets holding it together. We take inspiration from the vocabulary of Earth Architecture in our designs, continuing specific aspects from the work of Christoph Friedrich, Fritz Kühn, Tom Joyce and Mary Colter.
