About New Mexico Arts

New Mexico Arts is the state arts commission and is a division of the Department of Cultural Affairs. Its primary function is to provide financial support for arts services and programs to non-profit organizations statewide and to administer the 1% public art program for the state of New Mexico.

NEW MEXICO ARTS MISSION
To Preserve, Enhance, and Develop the Arts in New Mexico through Partnerships, Public Awareness, and Education, and to Enrich the Quality of Life for Present and Future Generations.

NEW MEXICO ARTS COMMISSION
The New Mexico Arts Commission is comprised of 15 members appointed by the Governor. The Commission serves as an advisory body to the Director of New Mexico Arts, serve as moderators and co-moderators of advisory panels during the annual funding cycle, and also serve as advocates for the arts in general. The Commission holds four meetings each year in January, February, May and November.
